CRMC's Hospice of Cullman County Truck Draw Down a HUGE Success

8/9/2012

Cullman Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that Hospice of Cullman County recently held its annual Truck Draw Down, which serves as a fundraiser benefiting indigent patient care, earned over $28,000. This year’s event was full of excitement as the final two ticket holders, Doug Harris and Janice Newlin, agreed to split the $10,000 cash prize and donate 15% of the proceeds back to Hospice of Cullman County.

“This year, we sold out of tickets early, raised a record amount in this year’s auction and had some of the winnings donated back to our organization,” Amy Walker, Hospice of Cullman County, Inc. Board Event Chair said. “We are so blessed to have such wonderful supporters in our community who impact the lives of so many Hospice of Cullman County patients through their contributions.”

This year’s auction featured the usual delicious cakes contributed by local cooks known for their pastry sensations as well as a beautiful quilt donated by Hospice of Cullman County Nurse, Faye Jordan. Many attendees also donated monies for a chance to win a Child’s John Deere HPX Gator which was donated by Tri-Green Equipment and Judy Butler. The drawing was held at the conclusion of the event and the winner was Faye Bailey.

Special thanks to the following for donating cakes and items auctioned during the event — Beth Anderson, Italian Creme Cake; Buna Burns, Classic Hummingbird Cake; Nell Dunlap, Carrot Cake and Nutterbutter Banana Pudding; Flavors Bakery, Cheesecake; Cynthia Johnson, Lemon Cake; Faye Jordan, Homemade Quilt; Danny McAfee, White Chocolate Bread Pudding; Doris Patterson, Fresh Coconut Cake and Chocolate Ganache Cake; Al Pitizing, Big Al's Honey; and Jo Schaffer, Rum Cake and Blueberry Creamcheese Pound Cake.
