CRMC Receives The Joint Commission Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® 2013
CRMC has been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. (Organization name) was recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for (insert applicable measure set(s) for which your hospital was recognized). (Organization name) is one of 1,224 hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2013 Top Performer distinction. The Top Performer program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, stroke, venous thromboembolism and perinatal care, as well as for inpatient psychiatric services and immunizations.

CRMC Receives HealthData Management's 2013 Nursing IT Innovation GOLD Award
Cullman Regional Medical Center recently took top honors for Health Data Management's Nursing IT Innovation Award for the Good-to-Go Discharge Initiative. The award recognizes innovation and excellence in using information technology in the field of nursing to directly improve the quality of care and patient safety while maximizing nursing resources, improve the work experiences of nurses, or to help further the professional practice of nursing. The award is presented to a team of nursing professionals at a health care organization (hospital, physician group practice or any other care-giving site). At least one of the primary coordinators of the IT project must be a nurse. Three awards are given: Gold, Silver and Bronze. 

CRMC Receives Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Transition to Better Care Program Award
Cullman Regional Medical Center recognized as award recipient, out of 100+ applicants for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Care About Your Care program for the Good-to-Go Patient Discharge Initiative. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Transition to Better Care program showcases innovative, patient-centered approaches coordinated by health care providers that improve the way care teams communicate with their patients, especially when a patient is transitioning from the hospital to home care. Click here for information about this prestigous award from the Robert Wood Johsnon Foundation.

CRMC Receives National Recognition as 2012 Most Wired Innovator Award Winner

How many times have you anxiously waited for a status update on your loved one in a waiting room? Sitting and wondering whether or not you could leave to go to the bathroom or to grab a quick bite to eat for fear of missing an update from the doctor or nurse. At Cullman Regional Medical Center, family members of patients undergoing surgery, no longer have to worry and wait for updates thanks to a new Electronic Surgery Tracking System created by the hospital’s Information Technology Department.

CRMC Designated As a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama has designated Cullman Regional Medical Center as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.

“Blue Distinction, in coordination with our JointsFirst program, is creating more streamlined care for our joint replacement patients,” Dr. Dave Dueland, Chief of Orthopedics at CRMC commented. “With CRMC performing 300-400 total joints annually, we have to maintain the highest standard of care and combine it with evidence-based practice.”

“Blue Distinction puts a high value on research and evidence-based health and medical information,” Allan Korn, MD, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Chief Medical Officer said. “Blue Distinction Centers show our commitment to working with doctors and hospitals in communities across the country to identify leading institutions that meet clinically validated quality standards and deliver better overall outcomes in patient care.”

CRMC Recognized for Implementing Quality Heart Care
Cullman Regional Medical Center has been recognized for achievement in using evidence-based guidelines to provide the best possible care to patients through the American Heart Association /American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines® program. CRMC and 789 other hospitals are featured in a special advertisement in the "America's Best Hospitals" issue of US News & World Report (August issue) to commemorate their receipt of the Get With The Guidelines Gold & Gold Plus Performance Achievement Awards.
