Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

A Top Performer on Key Quality Measures has met high goals set by The Joint Commission. A performance measure shows how we are doing on providing quality care in a specific area and is based on data collected during the process of care. Example, giving antibiotics to all patients who have pneumonia.

The new star ratings allow consumers to more easily compare hospital using a familiar four-star scale, with more stars indicating better quality care. Ratings are based on data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey (HCAHPS) measures that are included in Hospital Compare, which measures patients' perspectives of hospital care including how well nurses and doctors communicate with patients; how responsive the hospital staff is to patient needs, how clean and quiet the hospital environment is to patients and how well patients were prepared for post-hospital settings after discharge.

Awarded to medical facilities that are evaluated by a team of physician experts and that demonstrate expertise in delivering quality healthcare in the area of knee and hip replacement.

The AJRR serves as a central clearing house for data on total joint replacement procedures performed at CRMC and other participating sites nationwide. Data collected helps more quickly identify implants that are performing better or poorer than others, and helps match patients procedures and devices to ensure that every patient is provided the best care possible.
