CRMC Announces NEW ER Entrance & Parking Changes – EFFECTIVE March 22, 2010 Cullman Regional Medical Center began construction of the new Emergency Room and effective March 22 the entrance of the ER will become the Main Entrance of CRMC. The Main Entrance will remain as the ER entrance during the first phase of construction which should take approximately 6 months. We ask that all guests enter the ER through the Main Entrance of CRMC. Additional staff has been hired to assist patients and visitors during the ER expansion process. All ER parking has been temporarily moved to the front parking lot of the medical center during this transition. With the expansion and renovation, the emergency room will add 5,400 square feet and remodel over 8,100 square feet. In addition 24 rooms will be available, compared to the 16 currently in use, and will accommodate over 60,000 patient visits each year. For more information, call (256) 737-2600.
CRMC Designated As a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama has designated Cullman Regional Medical Center as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. “Blue Distinction, in coordination with our JointsFirst program, is creating more streamlined care for our joint replacement patients,” Dr. Dave Dueland, Chief of Orthopedics at CRMC commented. “With CRMC performing 300-400 total joints annually, we have to maintain the highest standard of care and combine it with evidence-based practice.” “Blue Distinction puts a high value on research and evidence-based health and medical information,” Allan Korn, MD, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Chief Medical Officer said. “Blue Distinction Centers show our commitment to working with doctors and hospitals in communities across the country to identify leading institutions that meet clinically validated quality standards and deliver better overall outcomes in patient care.” Click here to read the complete announcement.
