Through the hard work and dedication of our staff, physicians are able to provide their patients with prompt, accurate diagnosis and treatment. While using some of the most technologically advanced equipment available, we strive to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. Listed below are the wide range of sophisticated diagnostic procedures offered by the center: Computerized Axial Tomography Also known as a C.T. scan, this highly sophisticated x-ray assists physicians in the detection of tissue damage or irregularities throughout the body. The C.T. scan provides physicians with rapid, detailed results, enabling them to diagnose and treat problems early. Ultrasound Ultrasound is a non-radiation imaging technique used by physicians to examine organs, breast, joints, fetal development and to diagnose gynecological problems. Nuclear Medicine The advanced techniques used in nuclear medicine enable physicians to view areas of the body such as the brain, thyroid, lungs, heart, liver, intestines, bones and kidneys. Fixed Base Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) The MRI permits physicians to "see" and diagnose diseases, or assess internal damage of tissue without the use of x-rays. The precise pictures produced by the MRI can assist in early detection, thereby reducing the need for some diagnostic surgeries. Unlike mobile units, the fixed base MRI greatly improves the quality of the images which are produced. As a result, it offers greater accuracy for proper diagnosis and treatment. Myelogram A myelogram is an x-ray of the spinal column. Like many other diagnostic imaging procedures, the myelogram has been used with great success to detect and diagnose problems. Fluoroscopy Exams Fluoroscopy is a high clarity, live image x-ray. Using a barium or dye injection, this procedure enables physicians to evaluate organs; tissue, bone and blood flow on a "television" monitor. Our Staff The Diagnostic Imaging Center radiologists are board certified, and radiological technologists are approved by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (A.R.R.T.) Physician Referral All appointments with the Diagnostic Imaging Center are made by physician referral only. If you do not have a primary care physician, call (256)737-2600 or complete our online physician referral form. |
