CRMC Support Groups and Programs

Cullman Regional Medical Center is proud to offer the following support programs to assist people struggling with various ailments. Each group traditionally meets on the same time and day of the week each month; however, occasionally scheduling conflicts occur and those meeting dates/times may have to be changed. We encourage you to contact the group coordinator to confirm the date/time of the meeting prior to coming for the first time or you can click here to review the online calendar of events which lists the most, up-to-date schedule of events and support group meetings at CRMC. 

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group
Find meaningful advice and support from a community of your fellow caregivers. Unless otherwise noted, this group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm at Westminster Assisted Living, located at the intersection of Main Street and Olive Street (1020 Olive Street SW, Cullman). Adult Diabetes Support Group

Anyone interested in learning more about Adult Diabetes is invited to attend this meeting. This group traditionally meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 pm in the Ave Maria Room in the CRMC Community Education Center in POB II. Bosom Buddies Support Group
This group meets the third Monday of each month at 6 pm in the Ave Maria Room in CRMC's Community Education Center in POB II. This group offers support to individuals and those affected by breast cancer. For more information, contact coordinator Mary Dyer at (256) 734-8729.

CPAP Support Group

CPAP meetings are held twice yearly in CRMC's Community Education Center in POB II and supports those who are on Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Treatment. This group is open to anyone who would be interested in learning more about the treatment of Apnea. Contact coordinator Patrick Starnes at (256) 737-2797 or via e-mail for more information. Lap Band® Support Group
Provide or receive support before or after your lap-band® procedure with others going through the same journey. This support group meets quarterly in Professional Office Building II on the 4th floor in Suite 420-B. Meetings will be added to the Calendar of Events. For more information on the LapBand Support Program, contact Donna Walker, Horizon Surgical Services, at (256) 736-2263.

Look Good/Feel Better Program
This support group, sponsored by American Cancer Society and CRMC, meets bi-yearly at the Cullman Oncology Center from 10 am until noon. Meetings will be listed in our Calendar of Events. This free service teaches oncology patients hands-on cosmetic techniques to help them cope with appearance-related side effects from chemotherapy and radiation treatments, provided by certified/trained cosmetologists. This is a non-medical service that does not promote any cosmetic product line. Ostomy Support Program
This program offers mutual aid and support for people who are learning to live with or care for someone with an ostomy. Anyone in need of support may contact coordinator Debbie Burgess via e-mail or by calling (256) 737-2300.
