What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease of altered blood sugar. A person with diabetes may not make enough insulin or the insulin in the body may not work as well as it should. It causes the blood sugar level to become out of balance. Uncontrolled high blood sugar can cause other health problems in the form of heart, kidney and nerve disease. Low blood sugar is a medical emergency and can potentially cause death if not treated.
