How do I schedule an appointment for diagnostic imaging services?
All appointments are scheduled through CRMC Resource Scheduling. If you have a question or need to change your appointment, you can contact CRMC Resource Scheduling at (256) 737-2667.
My physician has scheduled me for tests at another imaging facility. Can I request to come to CRMC Diagnostic Imaging for my tests?
The CRMC Diagnostic Imaging & Women’s Diagnostic Center departments will honor any signed physician order for exams.
I have a problem with small spaces. Would an MRI bother me?
Claustrophobia is an area all of the CRMC Diagnostic Imaging MRI staff is accustom to handling. Let the staff know of your fear, so they can appropriately help you through the exam. The staff is happy to walk you step-by-step through the exam, explaining the entire process, including length of time involved and how to communicate with the staff during the exam. Every effort is mad to make the exam as comfortable as possible.
How long will my procedure take?
Each procedure requires a different amount of time generally ranging from a few minutes to 30 minutes. Some exams may take longer than 30 minutes; these are commonly the nuclear medicine procedures.
Can I eat or drink prior to my test?
For most exams in the CRMC Diagnostic Imaging & Women’s Diagnostic Center, you can eat/drink and take medicines prior to having your exam. However, the preparation instructions for your procedure will be explained by your physician or his/her staff when your exam is scheduled. If you have additional questions, you may contact the CRMC Diagnostic Imaging Department at (256) 737-2180.
Are there any special instructions on my clothing the day of my test?
As a general rule, any clothing with snaps, buttons and some shirts with scenery stenciled on it may interfere with getting images. If needed, the CRMC Diagnostic Imaging Department has gowns available for patients.
How long will it take to get the results?
Most test results are ready within 24 hours after the completion of the procedure. Others are called to physicians as required. Your physician’s office will call you with any follow-up information regarding your results.
Can I get a copy of my imaging results to take to a specialist out of town?
The CRMC Diagnostic Imaging Department uses all digital imaging for all procedures; therefore, we are able to provide digital images from any procedures on CD for patients.
How do I learn more?
The Diagnostic Imaging Department of CRMC is committed to providing patients and family members with additional information and resources, as needed. Contact the CRMC Diagnostic Imaging department today at (256) 737-2180.
