Hospice of Cullman County has been providing care to the Cullman community for 25 years. The Hospice of Cullman County staff is made up of trained professionals with 527 years of combined experience. Our staff consists of 15 Registered Nurses, 4 Certified Nursing Aides, 1 Physical Therapist, 1 Occupational Therapist, 2 Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants and 8 office staff to assist with processing insurance claims, scheduling and serve your needs. In this team, we have a Certified Wound Care Specialist, Certified Hospice & Palliative Care Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educators.

Michael Hall, MD – Hospice Medical Director
Hospice of Cullman County is proud to have Michael Hall, MD
serve as Medical Director. Dr. Hall is a native of Gordo, Alabama and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and holds the American Medical Association’s (AMA) EPEC Certification in end-of-life care. He began his private practice with Cullman Internal Medicine in 1981 and currently serves as a Certified Palliative Care Instructor for the AMA, the Medical Supervisor for Palliative Care Consultation Services at CRMC. He has previously served as the CRMC Medical Executive Committee Chief of Medicine and is an active member of First Baptist Church of Cullman where he serves as an instructor, a member of the Personnel Committee and a member of the Chancel Choir. Dr. Hall completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his post-doctoral training at Caraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. He is also active with the Good Samaritan Health Clinic and numerous international missions. His personal interests include international travel, aerobic exercise, both vocal and instrumental music, snow skiing and water skiing on Smith Lake.
William Peinhardt, MD
Hospice of Cullman County is proud to have William Peinhardt, MD
as a part of the clinical team that visits Hospice of Cullman County patients in their homes. Dr. Peinhardt is a native of Cullman, Alabama and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He began his private practice with Cullman Internal Medicine in 1977 and has held numerous leadership roles during his tenure including: President, North Alabama Physician's Group LLC; President, Physician's Resource Network – MSO; President, Cullman Internal Medicine; Chief of Staff, Cullman Regional Medicine Center; State Board Member, American College of Physicians; State Board Member & Secretary, Alabama Society of Internal Medicine; Chairman of local Board of Censors, Medical Association Systems of Alabama; Medical Director, CRMC Home Health; Medical Director, CRMC Cardiopulmonary Heart Failure Program; Medical Director, CRMC Congestive Heart Failure Program; 20-year member of local American Heart Association Board; and Primary Care Advisory Committee, UAB. Dr. Peinhardt is a graduate of Auburn University and he completed medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed his post-doctoral training at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham. Dr. Peinhardt is active in local, state and international United Methodist Church, he is currently the Medical Director of two international peace camps, has participated in four volunteer in-mission service trips to South America, is active in family development of Peinhardt living history farm as well as active in various conservation environmental and forestry efforts.
Lisa Ellard, CRNP
Lisa Ellard has been caring for patients as a nurse for more than 23 years and assisting diabetic patients for more than 15 years. Ellard received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Auburn University where she served as Vice President of the Auburn University School of Nursing Program. Lisa began her career as a nurse in Birmingham but moved to Cullman Regional’s Maternity Center shortly after to be a Labor, Delivery, Postpartum and Gynecology Registered Nurse. While working as a nurse, Ellard received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Shortly after receiving her masters and then certification, Ellard began seeing patients as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) with Cullman Internal Medicine. It was during this time that Ellard became interested in diabetes education and became a Certified Diabetes Educator. Ellard has served as a clinical nursing instructor for Wallace State Community College in Hanceville and has served and continues to serve as a Diabetes Educational Speaker. She recently joined the clinical team of Hospice of Cullman County and includes Michael Hall, MD and William Peinhardt, MD. This clinical team visits hospice patients in their homes while under the care of Hospice of Cullman County. Ellard has been a part of the Hospice team since 2010.
