Prenatal Education Classes & Community Resources

CRMC Maternity Center currently offers the following prenatal education classes to expectant moms.

Prepared Childbirth Class
This class is held one Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m. until noon. This class educates Mom and her coach on pregnancy, labor, delivery, childcare and infant CPR. The class also discusses exercises, relaxation techniques and medications available to assist Mom with the labor and delivery process. Anxiety is caused from "fear of the unknown”. The goal of this class is to decrease Mom and her coach's anxiety by giving them an idea of what to expect including a tour of CRMC's Maternity Center. Cost for this class: $25 per couple$20 per couple for WomenFirst Members; No Cost to Medicaid Patients.

Breastfeeding Class
This class is to help Mom answer questions and sort through the myths about breastfeeding. The class discusses the benefits of breast feeding for both Mom and baby, breastfeeding techniques, breastfeeding and going back to work and begins a support group for mothers choosing to breast feed. The cost of the class includes copies of all handouts and a book. Moms are encouraged to bring their breastfeeding support person with them to the class. This class immediately follows the Prepared Childbirth Class each month from 1 pm to 3 pm, but you are not required to attend the Childbirth Class in order to attend the Breastfeeding Class.
